The society was founded in February , facing great difficulties due to negative attitude of the Greek Government of the time towards amateur radio. The Radio Amateur Association of Greece is governed by the President and six other committee members, who are elected by secret ballot for a period of two years. In addition, the society publishes a number of training and operating guide books in the Greek language. On the evening of May 27th Greek authorities, who were unfamiliar with Amateur Radio, arrested Baldur charging him with espionage. Baldur and Christa are now safely back home in Germany. One of his first things scheduled was to see a doctor about his broken fingers. Baldur is scheduled to go to trial on June 7th, although it is highly unlikely he will be going back to Greece but will rather go before the European courts. Many Greek Amateur Radio operators are outraged by the treatment of the Drobnica couple, as much attention has been given to promoting Greece as a wonderful place to go to and vacation and operate Amateur Radio.
